Daylight savings time is officially less than one month away (but whose counting?!), and I'm craving some sunny vibes. I've already switched up my bedding for a lighter, yet still cozy feel, indulged in some iced lattes, from under a heavy throw, and am ready to trade in my robe for a lighter, brighter version. While that may be jumping a bit too far ahead (it's literally snowing as I write this!), these lightweight beauties have me ready for spring.
1. Eberjay - Super delicate and feminine, this robe can easily be bridal, but doesn't have to be limited to just the big day.
2. Oscar de la Renta (Bloomingdales) - A fun poppy pattern makes it an easy transition piece.
3. Ralph Lauren (Bloomingdales) - A total classic. I love that it looks borrowed from the boys, but is still trim.
4. Pretty Plum Sugar - This one is my favorite! I love that it comes in a light and short version. And the eye mask? What's not to love?!
5. Pretty Plum Sugar - Featuring a soft poppy pattern, this is a fun, spring-y wrapper.
6. Calvin Klein - Incredibly soft, this dove gray option is the perfect weight to wear alone or thrown over pjs.
7. Oscar de la Renta (Bloomingdales) - I love this one! It begs to be taken somewhere sunny and the bright pattern could make for a fun cover up.
8. DKNY - Sure, it's black, but it's timeless and the texture is completely luxe.

Weekend Warrior
May is one of my favorite months. Not only is it my birthday (!), but May represents the kick off to summer AND that means summer Fridays. Those blissful days of wrapping up at 1pm and getting a jumpstart on the weekend. And whether catching the cannonball out East or heading upstate, one thing is for sure, you need your bag to travel (and look great while doing so). Check out the below options to take on the weekend in style.

Designer Moment: Katie Ermilio
If there was ever a modern-classic girl, it would be Katie Ermilio. Granddaughter of Grace Kelly's clothier, Katie Ermilio's namesake line is both streamlined and feminine. Whether it's bold punchy jewel-tones or fresh pastels, each piece feels like something GK would approve.
Here are a few of my favorites across all her collections, and I can't wait to see what she has in store next!

Modern Classic Look: Après-Ski
I think there is something undeniably and inherently glamorous surrounding ski culture - the accessories, the lodge, the cocktails. This New Year's Eve, Mr. C and I hit the slopes for the first time this season. Although the temperatures hovered around 25 degrees, the sun was shining; we layered like crazy and had an amazing day. That evening we watched one of my favorite films, Charade, where Audrey Hepburn epitomizes that flawless just-off-the-slopes look with over-sized sunglasses, cozy outer wear and simple makeup. Achieve her timeless look with these après-ski must-haves:

Cool Weather Coat Switch
Cool mornings and evenings mean it's time to break out the coats. And while it's certainly not parka season (yet!), sometimes a simple trench just isn't going to cut it. For this time of year, I lean towards knee-length car coats. They provide just enough coverage, without looking bulky, plus you can wear them with skirts or pants without looking sloppy. Here are a few options to effortlessly transition from season to season:

Taylor Made
Trying to find fun, flattering, work-appropriate things is always a bit of a challenge. While I'm a devoted Calvin Klein girl, I've recently had some great luck at Ann Taylor. I stopped by this evening and they have some incredible things for fall. Here are a few things that caught my eye - and clearly I'm feeling minimalist!
Thankfully they are having some amazing sales too, so you can indulge guilt-free. You're welcome.

Friday Finds
Here are a few things about excited about this week:
- Girl Power - Here are some inspirational words from the Fashion Industry's most brilliant ladies.
- This week, we lost a great beauty. This is a beautiful tribute to her.
- We've been hot on the idea of traveling to Scotland, and I've been dreaming of Celtic fisherman sweaters. This one is gorgeous!
- Feeling tired of the endless reel of "what-ifs"? This breaks down why we can be our own worst enemy.
- Stumbled on these beauties recently. Could they be more gorgeous?! I'm dreaming in pineapple.
Happy Weekend!
Quote of the Day
Lake Essentials
Every 4th of July we escape the sweltering city and head upstate to the Lake House. It's a small Adirondack town in the mountains where the vibe is seriously laid back. After going for several years, I've given up on certain things -blow drying, long showers, trying to avoid insect bites, mascara - and learned to embrace others - Navy Showers, serious SPF, buffed nails, the art of the air-dry and streamlined packing. Here are a few things that kept my bag light and organized this year:
1. A Maxi - I love a good maxi dress. Be it plain like this one or patterned, a lightweight dress is perfect for the lake. It can go from lounging to cover-up to dinner. To keep the bottom from dragging in the sand, while simultaneously adding a waistline, just add a belt. It's stylish without looking overdone (too many accessories is a sure way to standout in a too obvious way).
2. A Chambray Shirt. I was a bit late to the chambray party, but now that I'm here, I'm totally embracing it. I wore mine from Guess tucked into shorts, tied over dresses, and layered for extra warmth at the bonfire. I love that it can wrinkle and still look totally polished.
3. Lip SPF. If there is one thing that never leaves my side during a trip to the lake, it's this lip protecting balm. I try to be good about applying all-over, but I'm fanatical about applying to my lips. This one glides one and has a super high SPF.
4. Simple Tan Sandals. When I'm not in my Sperry's or flipflops, I love a basic tan sandal. They go with everything - shorts - dresses, jeans - cover-ups, you name it, it works. These are elegant in their simplicity.
This year we had beautiful weather, a packed house, the annual clambake, and lots of boating. Here are a few shots from the weekend:
MC Foot Notes
I love heels as much as the next girl, but when the weather gets warm, it's all about flats. Nothing says summer weather like espadrilles. Flat, but totally beachy-chic, these rope sandals instantly add a dash of Mediterranean without looking out of place. In fact, they tend to look like you are heading to some envy-worthy beach locale!
Originally designed for foot soldiers in the 13th century, espadrilles have evolved (in materials and comfort, I'm sure!), but kept their roots with their natural-colored soles and easy-to-walk-in design. This season, I'm especially loving those in bright, poppy colors or fun patterns. One word of caution when shopping for espadrilles, look at the inner portion of the shoe and see if that part also features the rope. While this does pay homage to the shoe's traditional feel, this can irritate after a bit. Instead look for those that feature some cushion for maximum comfort.
