Today is St. Patrick's Day, and how better to celebrate than with a bit of Irish Coffee? Here is my favorite recipe for celebrating in style (compliments of Joy of Cooking)
Irish Coffee:
- Heat, but do not boil, and place in a pre-warmed 7-oz goblet or coffee cup:
-1 jigger Irish Whiskey
- 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar (true aficionados claim that the only proper Irish Coffee is made with Demerara sugar)
-Fill to within 1/2 inch of the top with freshly made hot coffee
-Stir until sugar is dissolved.
-Top with chilled whipped cream (homemade, of course)
